Jaylen Brown goes viral over classy gesture for journalists
Jaylen Brown has signed the largest contract in NBA history, and he wants everyone involved to know how grateful he is.
Brown, a Boston Celtics player, sent a lovely personal email to Denver Post reporter Mike Singer this week. Singer was among the media members who voted for Brown to be named All-NBA last season.
“Dear Mike,” began Brown’s note to the former. “I just wanted to thank you for including me on the All-NBA team last year.” As a current NBA player, I am well aware of the importance of the All-NBA voting system and its impact on my career. I’m also aware that none of you were asked to do this as journalists.
Nonetheless, I know you considered all deserving candidates, and I appreciate your vote. Thank you again, and best wishes to you and your family during this off-season. Best wishes, Brown and Jaylen.”Singer’s name appears on the public All-NBA ballots, indicating that he backed Brown’s selection to the Second Team. The Celtics were able to offer Brown a supermax contract after he finally made the All-NBA Second Team (his first All-NBA team). He signed a record-breaking supermax contract with the Boston Celtics last month, worth $304 million over five years.
Some Bostonians believe Brown is not worth that much money. Brown cannot be accused of being ungrateful after being given such a large sum of money.
