Scoring 36 points, Mavs star Luka Doncic’s monster FIBA World Cup performance vs Georgia has X going bonkers

Thanks in large part to Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, Slovenia remain unblemished in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

On Monday, in Slovenia’s 88-67 victory over Georgia in Japan, Doncic scored 36 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field. Although he shot below 50 percent from the field, he drew numerous fouls, as evidenced by his 13-for-17 performance from the charity stripe. In nearly 32 minutes of action, he collected 10 rebounds and dished out 6 assists.

It was another Doncic performance that had basketball aficionados picking their jaws up off the floor and the Internet buzzing.

“Luka Doncic was instrumental in Slovenia’s advancement to the next round,” tweeted @DunkLeagueNBA.

Doncic has performed so well thus far in the tournаment that the audience is already chanting his nаme as tournament MVP.

Luka Doncic is receiving MVP accolades at the free throw line in Okinawa Arena. During the game, Grant Afseth reported that he scored 34 points by converting both of his attempts.Last Saturday, Doncic guided his team to a 100-85 victory against Venezuela in Slovenia’s tournament opener in Japan. Doncic stuffed the stat sheet with 37 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in that contest. It goes without saying that Slovenia will go as far as Doncic leads them.

Doncic has averaged 36 points, nine rebounds, and six assists through two games.

Slovenia is now 2-0 in group play and is expected to complete the first stage of the FIBA World Cup unbeaten, with only Cape Verde remaining on Wednesday.
