Marcus Jordan, 32, tells girlfriend Larsa Pippen, 49, his dad Michael Jordan nearly lost a $40,000 wаd of cash in the ocean when he fell off a jetski with his daughter – and tried to save the money first
Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son, once stated that when his father’s fortune of $40,000 went into the ocean, he decided to preserve the money rather than his own daughter.
Marcus said his father, who is 60 years old and recently spent $115 million on a yacht he and his wife traveled around the Mediterranean on, is a poor swimmer.
Marcus also disclosed that the six-time NBA champion and $3.5 billionaire almost lost thousands of dollars to the sea, so it’s not like his lack of swimming skills keeps the Chicago Bulls great out of the water. Marcus remembered a family vacation in the Bahamas where Jordan went out on a jetski with his daughter Jasmine and then capsized, on a recent edition of his podcast with fiancée Larsa Pippen titled “Spilling Family Secrets.”
He reported, “My sister was floating; she was wearing a life vest.” There was water involved, and my father wasn’t wearing a life jacket. All you can see is a huge pile of cash, maybe $40,000, held together with a rubber band. Then, Marcus disclosed that Jordan had opted to keep the hefty sum of $40,000 rather than his kid.
“My father was the first to try to get the $40,000… She put on a life vest, but Daddy said, “I’ve got to go grab this couch.”
After selling his NBA club, the Charlotte Hornets, for $3 billiоn last month, Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette were spotted lounging on a beautiful yacht off the shore of the French Riviera town of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
After ten years of marriage, the couple was seen socializing with their loved ones. Their boat of choice seemed to be the 2018-built, 74.5-meter, $115 million M’Brace. The yacht features its own pool in addition to sleeping space for 12.
Although Marcus insists his dad can’t swim, Jordan has been observed diving into the water and paddling along while being pulled by a motorized gadget called a Seabob.
Pippen, 49, is the ex-wife of Scottie, a former teammate of Michael Jordan’s with the Chicago Bulls. Since 2021, she has been seeing Jordan’s son, Marcus, who is 17 years younger than her.
While on a recent trip to France with his wife Yvette, Jordan did address his son’s connection with Larsa. Jordan was asked by paparazzi if he was okay with his son’s new girlfriend, and he replied with a resounding “no.”
In a recent interview, Larsa revealed that Michael and his former teammate Scottie Pippen would have had to deal with some awkwardness had they reunited.
She stated, “I’m not crаzy,” on the White Down podcast. Michael and Scottie’s relationship is certainly uncomfortable for both of them.
“I don’t pry into [Scottie’s] business,” I once said. He doesn’t pry into my private life by asking questions. We only ever discuss our children.
Meanwhile, Scottie has avoided talking about the pairing directly.
