After establishing a multi-year partnership in July, global performance brand Rigorer and rising NBA talent Austin Reaves recently launched the AR1, his first signature sneaker. On August 11, 2023, the AR1 had its global debut in a “Ice Cream” special edition colorway in partnership with global marketplace KICKS CREW.
Reaves, who was born and raised in Arkansas, played NCAA basketball for the Wichita State Shockers and the Oklahoma Sooners before joining the Los Angeles Lakers this summer on a four-year contract. During the 2023 NBA regular season and playoffs, Reaves wore clothing from the Chinese clothing firm Rigorer, which was founded in 2014 by former CBA player Lin Chenyao. The performance-focused design is led by the Woven Cocoon Upper’s breathability and lockdown support, the low-court feel ShowTime Tech Foam Midsole wrapped in EVA foam, and the lace bite-eliminating Bubble Lacing System. An Anti-Torsion TPU Plate made of carbon fiber and nylon, an Anti-Slip Sole, Front Sidewall TPU Panels, and an Anti-Skid Heel round out the performance features.
