After tough childhood with mother
Michael Jordan, universally hailed as the sport’s greatest player of all time, also holds the record for most money earned by an NBA player. He is the first NBA player to surpass the $1 billiоn mark in terms of net worth, which is now valued at $1.8 billiоn. Only LeBron James has scored more points than that.
Jordan is notorious for his lavish spending habits and extravagant antics. His intense sense of competition leads him to wager on everything from golf tournaments to card games. He has invested the hundreds of milliоns of dollars he earns annually from his Nike contract in a number of different businesses.
His Airness is in a class of his own when compared to the other wealthy athletes who spend a few million on vehicles and residences. He has an extensive collection of luxury vehicles, timepieces, and homes. Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillon, Michael Jordan’s $1.1 million watch, is more expensive than any of his cars.
#5, Mercedes-McLaren SLR 722 Edition and Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir
Michael Jordan has a dazzling assortment of luxury vehicles at his disposal, including not one but two Corvettes, a Bentley, an Aston Martin, and a number of Mercedes and Porsches. The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition, which costs an astounding $3 million, is, however, his most costly vehicle.
McLaren SLR models are already extremely rare, but the 722 Edition takes that rarity to a whole new level. Jordan owns one of the rare, limited-edition models (there were only 150 made).
In addition, he has a $2 million+ Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir.
#4, Florida estate
The legendary Chicago Bulls player has several lavish homes in the United States. He has a massive property in Chicago that is estimated to be valued roughly $14.5 million, and he just sold another one in Utah for $7.5 million. In addition, he has a North Carolina house valued at $2.6 million. But by far, his most lavish residence is the mansion in Jupiter, Florida, which he is now constructing.
According to reports, Jordan dropped $12.8 million on the home and another $7.6 million on upgrades and extras. There is a 28,000 square foot mansion on the property with 11 bedrooms, a two-story guard house, a basketball court, and an extravagant workout facility. To put it simply, this property is “the most expensive non-waterfront home in the Palm Beaches.” According to reports, it took six months to plan and another 18 months to complete, and it can be found on a golf course designed by golfing great Jack Nicklaus.
#3, Gulfstream G550 jet
Michael Jordan has the most expensive private jet of any player in the world at a whopping $61.5 million. The Gulfstream G550’s tail number, N236MJ, represents his number, six NBA championships, and initials. Since 2003, when production of the G550 model began, Gulfstream has built fewer than 600 total aircraft. Production of the G550 will end in 2021.
Recently, Jordan gave his jet a one-of-a-kind design by covering it in a gray elephant print to match his Air Jordan 3 footwear. Previously, the only color on his plane was a light blue stripe that ran underneath his Jumpman insignia. His Jumpman insignia is painted on the bottom of the plane to help fans on the ground spot his own plane.
#2, Luxury yacht
You can be sure that Michael Jordan will make his presence felt in the water if he has a vehicle in the air and on the roads. His enormous $80 million superyacht is appropriately titled “Joy.” The boat is over 230 feet in length, and it has numerous high-end facilities like a basketball court, spa rooms with jacuzzis and saunas, a huge luxury suite, seven decks, a helipad, and more.
He has a sports fishing yacht called “Catch 23” that is estimated to be valued over $8 million. He takes it out on the open water for sport fishing competitions. His private plane and boat share an Air Jordan 3–inspired covering.
#1, Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets franchise was the most pricey thing His Airness has ever bought. In 2010, he spent an outrageous $175 million for the squad, which is now worth $1.57 billiоn. Despite his enormous return on investment, the Hornets remain one of the league’s least expensive clubs.
