Days before Mason Greenwood’s “debut,” his girlfriend Harriet Robson “has been out with Getafe Wags.”
After signing with the Spanish club at the very last minute of the transfer window last month, the 21-year-old striker was offered a return to football.
Training footage of Greenwood has been featured on the club’s social media pages, and he was later unveiled in front of a stadium full of fans.
His debut for Getafe was postponed due to a weeklong interruption in club football caused by an international break.
Since Greenwood’s arrest in January, he has not been able to train or play on the field, so this extra week will help him get back in game shape.
And Getafe has reportedly been going above and beyond to make him feel at home away from the field in preparation for his debut.
According to MailOnline, the club president reportedly hosted Greenwood and his family for dinner, and a translator is available upon request.
Harriet Robson, the striker’s girlfriend, has also been welcomed by Wags and has been out shopping in Madrid.
It’s not certain if she’ll move to Spain with him or just visit frequently with their child.
While Greenwood looks for a place to call his own in Boadilla del Monte, he is reportedly staying with his father.
Towards the west of the Spanish capital, you’ll find the tranquil and prosperous town.
It comes just before he might make his debut for Getafe this coming weekend.
He is set to play against Osasuna on Sunday, September 17th, despite only signing on loan 10 days ago.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm BST at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
Mason was anxiоus about how his new teammates and coaches would react to him, but according to a source quoted in The Sun this week, “they have been very welcoming to him.”
A couple of the Spanish guys have taken him under their wing, and he’s feeling very comfortable among them.
It’s gone so smoothly and so swiftly; he can’t believe it.
A second insider said, “The Getafe Wags have also welcomed Harriet, so they are both very happy with the move at the moment.”
Since Greenwood was suspended by Manchester United after his arrest in January 2022, this would be his first professional match in over 18 months.
