In their debut game together, Lukaku and Dybala help Mourinho’s AS Roma thrash Empoli 7-0 in Serie A.
In his second game after signing from Chelsea, Lukaku scored his first goal while Dybala scored twice.
Due to an injury, Dybala was unable to play in Roma’s most recent game versus Milan, which included Lukaku’s debut. Empoli has already dropped its first four games without scoring a goal.
After a clear handball by Empoli defender Sebastian Walukiewicz, Jose Mourinho’s Roma got off to the best possible start when it was given a penalty almost immediately. With less than two minutes remaining, Dybala delivered a stunning strike into the top left corner to give his team the lead.
Six minutes later, Renato Sanches scored his first goal for Roma by heading in a cross from fellow newcomer Rasmus Kristensen. The home team then increased its lead when Grassi deflected in a shot from Cristante after superb work from Lukaku.
Ten minutes after the half, Dybala increased his total and then hit the crossbar shortly after.
After receiving a helping hand from Andrea Belotti, Cristante made sure he got on the scoresheet in the 80th minute. Two minutes later, Lukaku was again set up by Belotti with a lovely through pass.
Following a corner kick from Cristante, Mancini then scored from close range.
To assist Fiorentina defeat Atalanta 3-2, Giacomo Bonaventura scored a breathtaking goal against the team from his birthplace.
When Nicolás González nodded down a long ball into the box, Bonaventura controlled it with his boot before turning and volleying it into the far side of the net in one beautiful move while Fiorentina was trailing to Teun Koopmeiners’ goal.
Before leaving Atalanta in 2014 to join AC Milan, Bonaventura rose through the ranks there.
And on the verge of halftime, Lucas Martnez Quarta’s header on Alfred Duncan’s cross gave Fiorentina a full turnaround.
Ademola Lookman scored a beautiful goal to tie the score eight minutes after the break, but poor Atalanta defending allowed replacement Christian Kouamé to score what would ultimately be the game-winning goal in the 76th minute.
Frosinone overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat Sassuolo 4-2 and achieve its best Serie A season start ever.
Andrea Pinamonti, a former forward for Frosinone, scored a brace to give the visitors a 2-0 lead in the 24th minute, but Walid Cheddira won and converted a penalty in the last seconds of the half to bring his team back into the game.
In the second half, Luca Mazzitelli scored twice in six minutes, and Pol Lirola completed the victory over his former team.
Frosinone earned seven points after its first four games despite hitting the woodwork twice as well.
Despite playing the whole of the second half with 10 men, Lecce has a point more after matching its greatest start to a season with a 1-1 draw against Monza.
Nikola Krstovi’s penalty gave Lecce the lead in the third minute, but Andrea Colpani equalized 20 minutes later. The visitors’ chances of keeping their unbeaten start to the season seemed to be in jeopardy when defender Federico Baschirotto was dismissed for a foul on Monza midfielder Leonardo Colombo just 10 minutes after the break.
With five minutes left, Monza was down to 10 men after Luca Caldirola received a second yellow card and had a goal disallowed.
