Former NBA forward Lamar Odom recently disclosed the four former teammates he would choose to play with if given the opportunity to assemble his dream team.
Speaking on the Knuckleheads podcast hosted by Darius Miles and Quentin Richardson, Odom revealed his picks, which included Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Udonis Haslem. It’s worth noting that Richardson and Miles, who also shared the court with Odom, graciously opted not to be included in his selection, so as not to impose any obligation on him.
Odom elaborated on his choices, highlighting the qualities that made each player special. While Udonis Haslem may not be a Hall of Famer like the others, Odom emphasized Haslem’s impact during his final stint with the Miami Heat, citing the profound respect his teammates held for him. Haslem’s leadership and three-time NBA championship pedigree contributed to his inclusion.
Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol were predictable selections, especially for Lakers fans, as they formed a formidable trio with Odom during their time together in Los Angeles. Together, they secured two NBA titles, triumphing in the 2009 NBA Finals against the Orlando Magic and the 2010 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. Odom played a pivotal role on those championship teams, averaging 13.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, all while shooting at a 49.1 percent clip from the field and 33.0 percent from beyond the arc over seven seasons with the Lakers. His contributions were further acknowledged with a Sixth Man of the Year award.
Ultimately, Lamar Odom’s chosen quartet represents a collection of exceptional talents who excelled in their respective roles during their NBA careers.
