Moises Caicedo and Noni Madueke became latest Blues stars on sidelines

Chelsea are hopeful Moises Caicedo and Noni Madueke will be back fit for their home clash against Aston Villa this weekend after the pair missed the goalless draw with Bournemouth

To play Aston Villa on Sunday, Chelsea hopes to get Moises Caicedo and Noni Madueke back. They also expect Armando Broja to make a significant improvement in his level of fitness by playing for Chelsea’s under-21 team the following week.

After returning from international service with knee and muscular injuries, respectively, midfielder Caicedo and winger Madueke missed Chelsea’s goalless draw against Bournemouth on Sunday, becoming the newest Blues stars to enter the injured list.

However, Mauricio Pochettino, the head coach, was without 12 players at Bournemouth, so their absences were preemptive and their problems were not deemed severe enough to keep them out for more than one game.

Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal were once again emphasized by the scoreless draw at the Vitality Stadium, but Pochettino may soon have a second No. 9 option in Broja.

He ruptured his ACL during a mid-season friendly against Aston Villa, which prevented him from playing for Chelsea in any competitive games until before the World Cup.

Chelsea are hoping to have both Moises Caicedo (L) and Noni Madueke back fit to face Villa

This season, manager Mauricio Pochettino is concerned about the health of a few of his talents.

However, he has resumed regular training and is prepared to step up his return campaign with a performance for Chelsea’s reserve team.

Over the next seven days, Chelsea has games against Luton, Manchester City, and Northampton Town; Broja is anticipated to play in at least one of those contests.

Before his injury last season, Broja established himself as a regular member of Chelsea’s first team after successful loan stints at Vitesse Arnhem and Southampton.

When discussing Chelsea’s attempts to bolster their roster earlier this season, Pochettino casually mentioned the Albanian last month, giving the apparent impression that he expects to rely on Broja when he returns.

Another person redoubling his efforts to rejoin the group is Armando Broja.

We are considering every alternative available on the market, according to Pochettino. However, I believe that we are also keeping one or two eyes on Armando Broja at the same time. We must not overlook him. He is unstoppable by us. We firmly believe in him and are aware of the significance he can have for Chelsea.

Sometimes we are unable to pursue a player that we may already have. While we wait for Armando to be totally fit, we need to be persistent, modify our squad, and produce good results.

Benoit Badiashile, a defender, should be able to resume playing in about a fortnight, according to Chelsea. The center-back’s hamstring injury kept him out of action until May.
