Bayern Munich or Chelsea? Aaron Ramsdale on the move?

Aaron Ramsdale on the move?! Bayern Munich and Chelsea keeping tabs on the Arsenal goalkeeper after he was dropped against Everton

Bayern Munich and Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after his position as Arsenal’s first-choice was jeopardised.

WHAT TOOK PLACE? Signing contracts in the summer David Raya played in his first game for Arsenal on Sunday, when the Gunners beat Everton 1-0. Raya took the place of Ramsdale. Since Mikel Arteta started Raya at Goodison Park, Ramsdale’s short-term and long-term situation with the club is uncertain.Arteta has said that he might try to switch between Raya and Ramsdale as goalkeepers this season. He has also said that he is open to making changes during games. The English goalkeeper has been linked to both Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

AND THEN WHAT? Bayern is looking for a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer because Sven Ulreich isn’t making a name for himself as a goalkeeper. Chelsea just got Robert Sanchez from Brighton and Djordje Petrovic from the New England Revolution, but they are still open to improving their goalkeeping.

BIG PICTURE: Ramsdale has been known as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe since 2021, when he joined the team from Sheffield United. He has become a regular member of Gareth Southgate’s team and has played in four senior international matches. Many people think he should start for the Three Lions instead of No. 1 Jordan Pickford.

WHAT NEXT? Arteta’s comments on his opinion of the keeper position suggest that any interest in Ramsdale in January would be welcomed with little enthusiasm. It would be interesting to watch how Arsenal responds if they are approached with bids for Ramsdale that are more than £60 million next summer.
