Caicedo’s absence from training images has caused concern for weekend

Concerns about Moises Caicedo are rising among Chelsea supporters.

The top player from Ecuador did not play in last weekend’s match against Bournemouth due to a minor ailment he apparently sustained while on international duty in South America.

Our expectations were that he would resume training this week and be fully recovered in time for Sunday’s game against Aston Villa.

However, Caicedo is nowhere to be seen in today’s training photos, and it is becoming increasingly likely that he will not be able to play this weekend due to the ιnjury.

It’s still close to a coin flip; if he missed training today and yesterday, he might still get in a session on Friday, do some extra work on Saturday, and be good to go for the game on Sunday.

It’s hard to imagine that happening if he skips tomorrow, too. Although Lesley Ugochukwu did a fine job filling in for him, it is frustrating to watch our ιnjury wоes persist.

After failing to appear in any photos from this week’s training, Chelsea supporters are worried about Moises Caicedo’s health. This weekend’s match against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge is a significant one in the Premier League, and Mauricio Pochettino is getting his team ready.

The Blues manager stated that Marc Cucurella was not included in the weekend’s squad because of a fever, and that Moises Caicedo and Noni Madueke had problems upon their return from international duty. Reece James and Christopher Nkunku, among others, are still out with injuries but hope to make returns later in the year.

Cucurella and Madueke have both resumed training, and there is still hope that Badiashile and Armando Broja will join them this week. The Albanian attacker will play for Chelsea’s youth squads to get back into game shape before rejoining the first team.

Fans are worried, though, because they didn’t see Caicedo in any of the Thursday workout photos. However, the club has not yet confirmed whether or not the Ecuadorian midfielder, Caicedo, participated in pregame preparations for the match versus Villa.

Along with Enzo Fernandez, the photo featured Malo Gusto, Mykhailo Mudryk, Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, and Madueke. If the £115 million signing is ruled out with his persisting illness, it appears increasingly probable that the Frenchman will continue on in midfield replacement Lesley Ugochukwu did well in Caicedo’s absence against Bournemouth. After suffering another setback over the international break, Romeo Lavia is still out of commission. The Belgian midfielder suffered an ankle ιnjury, further postponing his debut for Chelsea.

As Trevoh Chalobah’s hamstring ιnjury continues to heal, Gusto will likely continue to start at right back in James’ absence. After being benched by Pochettino in favor of Mudryk, Ben Chilwell may be reinstated to the starting lineup this weekend.
