With Steph Curry’s blessing, the All-Star is getting closer to making his NBA comeback

It would appear that Steph Curry is excited about a prospective new teammate on the Golden State Warriors’ roster.

There has been much speculation that Dwight Howard would return to the NBA next season, which would make the four-time champions even stronger. The former Los Angeles Lakers great has ended his two days of interviews with the Warriors.

According to the same source, both Curry and his seasoned team mates are on board with the idea of bringing in the eight-time All-Star. Reportedly, he is on his way to Los Angeles to train with Draymond Green and Chris Paul, the newest member of the Warriors. Green’s tweet, “One day, one day, everything won’t leаk,” reflected his apparent annoyance at the report’s timeliness.

The day will come. Congratulations, Jason. But there will come a day when NOTHING leaks. “I’m having a dream.” Howard’s last NBA season was with the 2021–22 Los Angeles Lakers, and he hasn’t played since. After one season with the squad, he moved on to play with the TaiwanBeer Leopards in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, marking his third time with the team.

Howard, who is now 37 years old, is in the twilight of his career, but the Warriors might benefit much from his knowledge and presence in the front court if he were to join. It might be said that head coach Steve Kerr’s roster is lacking a veteran big man who can protect the rim defensively.

Howard’s оffensive versatility as a lob threаt might help the Warriors score more easily all season long. Paul may be the best option for providing Howard with lob passes. During his tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers, he bonded with fellow NBA players DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin, allowing him to confidently dish the ball to them for easy layups. The term “lob city” emerged during this time.

This happened frequently when Paul played for the Phoenix Suns and lobbed the ball up to Deandre Ayton. Howard can step in for Green and Kevon Looney if either of them gets hurt or into trouble. The Warriors’ locker room was hardly ever united last season, but with Howard on board, that should change.

For the younger guys on the team who have yet to experience championship success, adding a veteran player and NBA winner is a huge plus. Howard has put up career averages of 15.7 points and 11.8 rebounds in the NBA.

He had a 6.2 point and a 5.9 rebound average in the 2021-22 NBA season, his most recent. From 2008–2012, he was a member of the NBA’s first team every year, and he won the league’s defensive player of the year award three times in a row.

During his prime in the late 2000s and early 2010s, Howard was so dominant that he was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team four times in a row. The center also topped the league in rebounding five times and led the league in blocks in 2009 and 2010. If Howard is able to bring even a fraction of this form to the Warriors, they might have a shot at another NBA title next season.
