After a two-day visit, the Warriors have decided not to sign Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard will not be joining the Warriors if he does return to the NBA this season.

According to Shams Charania of Stadium, the free agent center’s two-day meeting with the Warriors ended with the team passing on signing him.

Charania reported on Friday that the Warriors would not be signing Dwight Howard or another veteran center before training camp. “Howard had a two-day visit with the Warriors this week that included meetings and workouts, but the Warriors are now expected to maintain flexibility to sign a potential big man later in camp or into the regular season.”

Charania said that he believes Howard would talk to other teams interested in his joining the NBA within the next week.

In December, Howard will turn 38, but he last played for the Lakers in 2021. Howard played in all 60 games for the Lakers that season, averaging 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Howard played for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan last season, averaging 23.2 points, 16.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks.
