Giannis Antetokounmpo is being watched by a number of teams, including the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have dominated the NBA for a decade, but their core rotation is already reaching the end of their careers. However, in contrast to most teams, the Warriors want to keep their championship-winning rotation together in order to get the most out of its three superstars. However, if a legitimate top-five talent became available, Golden State’s willingness to stick with the status quo may be put to the test.

It appears that Mike Dunleavy and Joe Lacob are showing early signs of a wandering eye. The Warriors are one of several clubs keeping tabs on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situation with the Milwaukee Bucks, as reported by ESPN.

According to ESPN’s report, “a few preliminary teams who, at the very least, will be watching this situation closely” could include the New Orleans Pelicans, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, and Golden State Warriors. It has been suggested that “each of those teams has a combination of intriguing young players and valuable draft picks available that could be packaged in the kind of trade it would theoretically take to land Antetokounmpo.”

Giannis is in the peak of his career and has already won the MVP award twice. It would be in the Warriors’ best interest to investigate what a trade for the dominant forward may entail if they believe he might be interested in joining Steph Curry in the Bay Area. Although it’s safe to assume that most NBA teams share a similar mentality.

As of late, Giannis has been vocal about how he won’t re-sign with the Bucks until the organization and his teammates share his hunger for more titles. In theory, the Warriors may provide Giannis with the best path back to the NBA Finals, but they’ll have to wait and see if he asks to be traded at the end of the upcoming season.
