As the two sides continue to negotiate a deal, La Liga President Javier Tebas has stated that he is convinced Kylian Mbappe would leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Real Madrid next summer
Tebas stated in an interview with Sport for Movistar+ that he believes Mbappe will eventually accept the offer he has previously turned down three times this summer.
“Not convinced, but there is no doubt that he is destined for this. I anticipate that he will play in the La Liga at 70 or 80 percent of the season.
However, Real Madrid won’t take the chance of losing Mbappe for a second consecutive summer. Los Blancos endured international shame last summer after informing everyone that Mbappe would be joining, only for Mbappe to decide to stay at PSG.
Tebas noted that Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, typically has the last laugh despite the fact that he was referring to the Superleague.
In whatever he attempts, “Florentino never loses.”
Many have interpreted Los Blancos’ failure to sign a top-tier forward this summer and the vacant number nine shirt as evidence that Mbappe’s arrival is still being prepared by the club. The PSG and France star’s contract expires in the summer, but if he doesn’t sign a new one, he may begin contract negotiations with teams on January 1.
