The 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider owned by Shaquille O’Neal’s is going up for auction

Shaquille O’Neal, a legend in the NBA who recently retired, can never be accused of being a man of few interests. Shaq’s hobbies range from rapping to yoga to target shooting, but collecting fast automobiles and motorcycles seems to be a constant. However, Shaq Diesel occasionally gets rid of things, as proven by the fact that he just sold his beautiful 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider, which had been modified to fit his enormous 7’1″ frame.

This classic-looking Spider has been upgraded with a few modern conveniences, such as a new custom soft top, sound system, Formula 1-inspired transmission, and Pirelli P Zero tires mounted on silver 19-inch Giovanna Luxury wheels. Many original features, such as the 3.5-liter V8 engine with 376 hp and 268 lb.-ft. of torque, and the body-matching tonneau cover, have been preserved and improved upon.

Two extra-deep seats, each with a bespoke Superman insignia sewn at the heads (a reference to yet another of Shaq’s numerous nicknames), have been installed in the sleek speedster. Despite all of this effort, Shaq obviously didn’t take this Spider out very often, since the speedometer reads a scant 7,000 miles (the vendor claims that only 1,000 miles were added between the time the car was purchased in 1997 and the time a dealer got it from one of Shaq’s buddies in August).

Check out Shaq driving the Spider on MTV Cribs above, and then place a winning bid on the car for just $47,000 USԀ on the Bring a Trailer website.

One of just six licensed vans used on The A-Team is now for sale, and it’s just one of a new crop of pop culture-related automobiles.
