James, who missed 27 games last year due to ailments (including one to his right foot), will not be participating in Saturday’s preseason opening against the Golden State Warriors at home.

With his 39th birthday coming up in December, LeBron James will be the oldest active player in the NBA, but that won’t stop him from getting plenty of minutes during the preseason for his 21st season.Six preseason games, and I’m hoping to make it to at least half of them, James said to reporters on Thursday after practice. “But time will tell. In my opinion, it will depend on each game. I definitely won’t be playing in the Bay area game this coming Saturday. But after that, who knows?

James received rave reviews from Darvin Ham, the head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ham assured reporters on Wednesday, “He’s 100 percent healthy.” “He seems to be doing OK. He might be a LeBron in his third or fourth season.

The Lakers and their medical staff, including James’ veteran medical trainer Mike Mancias, will continue to monitor the superstar closely. To paraphrase what Ham said: “We collaborate and communicate on what those steps will be.” We always make care to devise a workable strategy.

One of the best parts about our future plans is that he’s physically in excellent form. Two, he has probably played in more games and logged more minutes than the rest of the squad combined in his years of experience outside of (Anthony Davis). Not only that, but he takes incredible care of himself.

The Lakers’ next two games are on Monday in Las Vegas against the Brooklyn Nets and Wednesday in Anaheim against the Sacramento Kings.

After finishing their exhibition schedule against the Phoenix Suns in Palm Springs on October 19, the club will host the Warriors on October 13 and the Milwaukee Bucks on October 15. The Lakers’ regular season begins five days later on the road against the Denver Nuggets.

With regards to James, the idea entails “just kind of easing into it,” as Ham put it. Since our roster is so strong, he can ease into the season without wearing his superhero cape. Because of the people he has surrounding him, he won’t have to go all out in every preseason game or practice.
