Austin Reaves is one Los Angeles Lakers player whose status is on the rise. His breakthrough year saw him steadily improve throughout the year and culminate in a series of impressive postseason showings. With Reaves’ help, the Lakers were able to beаt the odds and advance to the Western Conference finals, raising hopes for a championship this year.
The undrafted guard had a breakout performance for the United States in the last FIBA World Cup. Although they were ultimately unsuccessful, Reaves did give them a legitimate opportunity at the gold medal in all except their final competition.
On Friday, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said that Reaves would not be participating in Saturday’s preseason game against the Golden State Warriors.
Ham also noted that Reaves showed great promise during Friday’s practice sessions.
On Saturday, Reaves will sit next to LeBron James on the bench. The Lakers are trying to limit James’ minutes as he enters his 21st NBA season.
