In his first game with the Wizards, Jordan Poole was, well, Jordan Poole

The 24-year-old Jordan Poole made his Wizards debut on Tuesday, and Warriors fans weren’t the least bit surprised by anything he accomplished.

The former Warrior guard put on a scoring display against the NBL’s Cairns Taipans, hitting 10 points in the first seven minutes as the Wizards cruised to an easy victory.

Both Jordan Poole’s strengths and weaknesses were on display in his debut game after leaving the Golden State Warriors.Poole, who started at the two-guard position alongside another new Wizard in Tyus Jones, opened with a catch-and-shoot three from the left corner, then explоded to the basket for a layup and swished another three a few minutes later.

The home team jumped out to a 29-14 lead with less than seven minutes remaining in the first quarter, thanks in large part to a double-digit scoring performance from Poole. They were so dominant that they went into halftime up by a whopping 36 points and went on to win by a final score of 145-82.Despite Poole’s spectacular scoring, there were still some frustrating lapses that were familiar to Warrior supporters from the previous year. He went 6-13 overall and 4-8 from long for 18 points, although he also took a few bad shots (which are typical of him).

Poole played 20 minutes but tied for the team lead in turnovers with three despite not handling the point. He also displayed his typical lapses in defensive focus. Poole’s overall performance was clearly a significant boost for Wizards fans, despite the fact that the team played against weaker competition in the preseason.

Ryan Rollins, another former Golden State Warriors guard, had some fourth-quarter action late on. The 21-year-old played just 12 minutes but contributed six points, two rebounds, and three assists, although he seems to be somewhat low on the depth chart among Washingtоn’s guards.
