Fans of the Golden State Warriors are itching to see Chris Paul in action for their club when the new NBA season tips off in about a week.
In order to get the future Hall of Famer at the age of 38, the Warriors had to trade away youthful sharpshooting guard Jordan Poole, an integral part of their 2022 championship squad.
Warriors on NBC Sports reports that Paul isn’t worried about the move’s success because he’s made similar roster changes previously.
For the first 12 years of his professional career, Paul played for the New Orleans Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, he has played for four more teams, including the Warriors.
The Wаrriоrs hаve аlwаys been а fаst-breаking club thаt uses а lоt оf bаll аnd plаyer mоvement in its set оffense, sо there is sоme dоubt аs tо hоw well he wоuld fit intо thаt system.
While Paul would benefit from reducing the workload of the 35-year-old Stephen Curry, he would also benefit from playing less minutes and taking on less of a load himself if this arrangement were to work out.
Another cause for concern for the Warriors is the fact that Chris Paul’s scoring numbers (in points and shooting percentage) have dropped dramatically over the past year or two.
He has yet to win an NBA title, and the Warriors’ current squad may be too old to win another title in his lifetime.
