Although Wemby’s closeout photo went viral on social media, the actual shot contest was a flop. Cain made the most of a forgiving bounce off the rim to nail the corner three.

Cain scored 24 points and made six three-pointers to lead all scorers. Just behind him was Wembanyama, who contributed 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks on 10-of-15 shooting from the field.

The finish to Wemby’s incredible slam made him look as elastic as Mr. Fantastic.

Victor Wembanyama is the craziest nightmare of the sports world.

During Friday’s preseason game against the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs rookie wonder Wembanyama channeled his inner Mr. Fantastic. On Friday, Wembanyama provided a few more memorable moments by snagging weaves. He resembled a Loch Ness Monster in flux. And he challenged the concept of “the give and go” as Dr. Naismith had originally conceived it.

The Spurs defeated the Heat 120-104 behind 25 points from the 19-year-old, who shot 10-of-15 from the field. Already must-see TV before his first official NBA game, Wembanyama delivered the swagger in his preseason debut earlier this week.
