LeBron James, affectionately known as “King,” has rewritten the book on NBA longevity and consistency, impressing fans and critics alike throughout his incredible career.
Inactive backup forward Recently, Matt Barnes spoke up to Bovada’s Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on their show Scoop B Talks.
Barnes questioned if anyone would ever be able to match the legendary LeBron James’s stellar career.
“Oh no. The fact that he has maintained this level of consistency over his whole career, which now spans 21 years. Since we first heard about him as kids, his stats have been incredible,”Barnes remarked.
So, what he’s been able to do in the league for the previous 21 years, I don’t think we’ll ever see again; I’d like to call it ‘Bron-gevity,’ you know? At 38 or 39, it’s incredible that he can still average 26 or 28 points every game.
The entirety of LeBron James’s career is proof of his greatness.
He is the first player in NBA history to be named to 19 All-Star teams, win four NBA titles, be named Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals, and win the NBA MVP award.

After LeBron James retires, would anyone be able to surpass his record of 38,387 career points?
Barnes told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, “Records are meant to be broken, and no one ever thought that Kareem’s record would be broken, but it’s gonna take a lot of work.”
To achieve that level of success, it took LeBron twenty years of hard work and dedication. So, you know, I hope that somebody beats that in the next ten, fifteen, twenty years.
Incredible consistency is what makes LeBron James so special. In his 20 years in the NBA, he has never been a top-tier scorer like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, or Allen Iverson, but he has always ranked in the top 20.
Throughout his career, LeBron has never had a season without scoring at least 25 points per game.
In 2006, he averaged 31.4 points per season, his greatest year for scoring. 16 years later, his scoring average dropped to 30.4. The 20-year NBA veteran and Lakers great scored 28.9 points per game last year.
While his peers may have more 50-point games, LeBron James has 534 games with 30 or more points, which is only 28 games short of the NBA record set by Michael Jordan.
The King has scored 20 points in 1,173 consecutive games, an NBA record.
Amazingly, he has a string of 1,140 games in which he has scored at least 10 points, the longest such stretch in the NBA (Michael Jordan is second with 866 games).
LeBron’s legendary career is defined by his unprecedented longevity. No player has played in more games than he has since he first appeared in the league in 2003.

LeBron has played in 65,744 games over the course of his 20-year career, much surpassing Chris Paul’s record of 47,253 minutes.
It continues with three retiring players: Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, and Joe Johnson.
With the start of LeBron’s 21st NBA season this week, it will be that much more difficult for future players to top his records.
With 1,348 more points, James will become the first player in NBA history to score 40,000.
Another record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Lakers team is within his reach.
In 1985–1986, Abdul-Jabbar set a record for most points scored by an active player who was 40 years old or older with an average of 23.
LeBron James has already had a historic career, and this year could add even more records to the books.
Indeed, a “Bron-gevity.”
