Draymond Green’s status vs. Kings doesn’t bode well for Warriors

It will take a little while longer for Draymond Green to rejoin the Golden State Warriors.

Green is expected to miss the Warriors’ game against the Sacramento Kings on Friday at Golden 1 Center. Green missed the team’s season opening on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns due to an injured left ankle. During an appearance on 95.7 The Game’s “Willard & Dibs” show, Steve Kerr revealed the bad news; nevertheless, the Dubs coach pointed out that Green might still be able to go with them.

The Warriors’ road trip begins with the matchup against Sacramento. They then travel to see the New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets.

Against the Suns, Gоlden State truly missed Draymоnd Green. The Warriоrs allоwed Devin Bооker, Kevin Durant, Jоsh оkоgie, and Jusuf Nurkic tо have their way оn the оffensive end withоut their defensive fоcal pоint. Even thоugh the Dubs and the оppоsitiоn matched each оther rather well оffensively, the absence оf Green’s defensive tоughness ultimately resulted in a clоse lоss, 108-104.

But perhaps Green can get back in time for the game against the Rockets. The Warriors can win this game, but losing without Green will undoubtedly be challenging. After all, Houston upgraded throughout the summer, adding players like Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet to their starting lineup in addition to Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, and Jabari Smith Jr.

Regarding the encounter with the Kings, the Warriors are going to have a lot of difficulties without Dray. Sacramento had the third-best record in the West at the end of the 2022–2023 season, and its core is back this year. The Dubs may easily drop to a 0–2 hole until Chris Paul, Andrew Wiggins, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson catch fire.
