The Grizzlies took a poor view of the situation, with some players expressing a desire to move on and break up with Iguodala. The rivalry was already in place even though the former Finals MVP joined the Heat before returning to Golden State.

The games never failed to deliver when fate set up the two teams for multiple high-stakes matchups over the following few seasons. The rivalry grew as more shade was thrown both on and off the court in the form of cheers, tweets, and verbal attacks.

Exists a rivalry between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors? Considering what Draymond Green and Steph Curry have said about the two teams

Twelve previous postseason meetings between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors have taken place. The two teams most recently faced off in a six-game playoff series that concluded in May 2022.

Notably, in what the Warriors consider to have been a Ԁirty play, second-generation hooper Gary Payton II broke his elbow. Coach Steve Kerr criticized the play after the game, claiming that Dillon Brooks violated player code.

In a recent KIA commercial, Draymond Green made a playful allusion to the Memphis Grizzlies. When the ball Һit the trees while Green and his daughter were playing basketball, she inquired about wolves in the area. The four-time NBA champion responded, saying:

Ever since the Memphis Grizzlies acquired Andre Iguodala in 2019, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors have been bitter rivals. Iguodala had just finished an incredible run with the Golden State Warriors at the time. He abstained, noting on First Take that he felt it extended his career by years.

In light of this, there appears to be some rivalry between the two squads, with Dillon Brooks particularly criticizing Draymond Green. In an interview with ESPN, Brooks said the following:

“I have no affinity for Draymond. Simply said, I dislike Golden State. Anything to do with them bothers me. Draymond is a talker. also gets away with a lot.”

Draymond Green and Steph Curry appear to agree that there is no rivalry between the two teams despite the remarks. During the playoffs, Green made the following statement to reporters:

“You win, I win, and a rift is created.” It’s obvious that we have four championships, whereas their company has none, therefore I can’t call that a rivalry.”

It appears like Steph Curry, the previous MVP, feels the same way. Curry answered reporters’ questions about whether there was a rivalry by saying this:

“I don’t want to be short, but … no.”

Although it doesn’t appear like there is a rivalry between Green and Curry, mentioning the Grizzlies in a KIA commercial may exacerbate tensions. Naturally, Dillon Brooks, who was presumably the primary aggressor on the Grizzlies, is no longer a member of the squad.
