It was really accurate to portray LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Less so for the rest of the Phoenix Suns.

аfter trаiling by 12 pоints in the fоurth quаrter, Jаmes аnd the Lоs аngeles Lаkers rаllied tо beаt the Phоenix Suns 100-95 оn Thursdаy in the first regulаr seаsоn meeting between the twо superstаrs in аlmоst five yeаrs.
It wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing of games. The Suns were already short-handed before the injuries to Devin Booker (foot) and Bradley Beal (back) hampered their ability to replace Durant’s production.
For the most part of the game, that didn’t appear to matter, as Durant led the Suns to a double-digit lead by the third quarter’s end. The Suns’ offense completely imploded in the second game of the season, preventing them from making a huge statement by beating the Lakers at home when they were at full health.
Three of the Suns’ scores came in the final two minutes of the game’s fourth quarter. A Durant 3-pointer put us up by three. The Lakers did not have to play their best to win. Even though they outscored the Suns 19-3 in that period of time, none of Durant’s teammates looked like they belonged in the NBA.
Bad shooting, bad passing, bad everything. That’s a lot of mistakes to make while playing James and Anthony Davis. With the exception of Kevin, no other Suns player made a field goal throughout the quarter, and Jordan Goodwin didn’t score until the final 10 seconds.
Durant got going down the stretch to keep the Suns in it, but it just let James set up the game-winning shot.
Durant scored 39 points on 14-of-28 shooting (including 1-of-4 from 3-point range) and grabbed 11 boards, while James finished with 21 points, 9 dimes, 8 boards, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and 5 miscues. In the 39 minutes he was on the court, the Suns outscored the Lakers by 18, but in the 9 minutes he was not, the Suns were outscored by 23.
The Suns did not have the kind of supporting cast you need to endure off nights from superstars, and this was not the best night for those who hoped they had.
