Kendrick Perkins thinks the Lakers should get James Harden in a trade

In their season opener against the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Lakers didn’t play particularly well. In spite of this, the Lakers won their second game against the Phoenix Suns with the help of a double-double from Anthony Davis. Kendrick Perkins thinks Los Angeles can improve their standing by making a move for James Harden in a trade.

According to Perkins, the Lakers have a superior team to accommodate James Harden than the Clippers have.

The Los Angeles Lakers might try to get James Harden in a trade. One NBA Today analyst opined that Anthony Davis should join the Los Angeles Lakers rather than the Los Angeles Clippers.

How about trading for him if you want James Harden to provide easy scoring opportunities for Davis the way he did for Joel Embiid last year?

It’s true what Kendrick Perkins says. During the 2022–23 NBA season, Harden averaged 10.7 assists per game and was the league leader. The league’s leading scorer, Joel Embiid, was a perfect target for the former All-Star. Davis and the Lakers might benefit from Harden’s presence, but they will still face competition.

LeBron James is an outstanding playmaker for the Los Angeles Lakers. In the previous season, James ranked among the top 13 assist leaders in the NBA with a 6.8 assist per game average. Even if Harden helps the Lakers, the team dynamic they’ve worked so hard to establish could be disrupted by his arrival.

Los Angeles’ 95-100 victory over the Suns without Devin Booker was a strong showing. Anthony Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 12 boards, while LeBron James came close to a triple-double with 21 points. It’s obvious that the Lakers have the skill level to compete in the tough Western Conference.
