TRADE NEWS: Asking for a trade was the best decision of my career, said Kyrie Irving after he was traded from the Brooklyn Nets

Kyrie Irving probably doesn’t feel as stressed out as he did in Brooklyn now that he’s moved.

Because of Kyrie Irving’s unwillingness to obtain the CоVID vaccine and New York City’s vaccine mandate at the time, the Brooklyn Nets’ superteam of Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden never came together and the team never won a championship.

To some extent, Harden’s trade request came first because of his displeasure with Irving, but Irving quickly followed suit. On Friday, Irving will play the Nets for the first game as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. According to an interview with the New York Post’s Brian Lewis and Dan Martin, Irving stated that he is satisfied with his choice.

Still, “asking for a trade was the best decision of my career,” as Irving put it. “I realized I required calmness.

Irving said that he thought the media was exaggerating the problems between him and the Nets.”I was never on bad terms with the organization,” Irving said following Thursday’s Mavericks practice. My impression is that the media made a lot of noise and cоnfusiоn. Nobody knew what was happening behind the scenes, and I’m not putting the blame on you.

There was more to Irving’s problems with the Nets and his ability to play for them than just . Irving took time off in the midst of the 2020-21 season for “personal reasons” after the uprising on January 6. Irving was kicked off the squad at the end of the previous season for tweeting about an anti-Semitic film. The Nets’ reluctance to offer Irving a maximum four-year contract extension after all that was the final straw that caused the divorce.

Both parties were ready to split ways by the end. The Nets, however, were aware that with the departures of Irving and Harden, Kevin Durant would be next, and that they would be forced to begin rebuilding once again. Yes, exactly that transpired.

Irving’s private life has been out of the spotlight since he arrived in Dallas, at least for the time being. Playing with Luka Doncic has given him the opportunity to study victory. The Nets, meanwhile, have begun a rebuild with a squad that is intriguing but far from complete and nowhere like what it will look like in a couple of years.

The reaction of Brooklyn’s supporters to Irving’s return on Friday night should be entertaining. Although Irving thinks he made the right decision for himself, he and Brooklyn are both considerably further from a championship now than they were when they were still on the same team a few years ago. To have that kind of calm must be priceless.
