Born in the City: Golden State Warriors 2023–24 City Edition Uniform

The 2023–24 City Edition Golden State Warriors outfits honor the vintage cable cars’ jubilee.

Throughout its 150-year history, the cable cars have stood the test of time and become a distinctive feature of San Francisco, having withstood the 1906 earthquake.

 

 

The wordmark font used on the uniform was influenced by cable car route markers. The trolley route that winds through the hills of San Francisco served as the model for the wordmark’s form. The swooping taping on the sides of the jersey and shorts is inspired by the merging trolley tracks, while the texture of the shorts’ waistband is inspired by steel cables.

Numerous iconic songs have included references to this San Francisco icon. These days, Dubs jersey designs incorporate it.
