The Wizards’ 76.5% shooting in the quarter was the best in the NBA this season and their best first quarter in their last 295 games (since Dec. 16, 2019). Most of that early run by the Wizards came against Miami’s fifth starting combination in its last five games. Five different starting lineups were utilized by the Heat in the first six games of the season, matching the 1994–1995 and 2020–21 seasons as the only others in which that happened.
